Speech-Language Pathologist

Imogen completed her bachelor degree in both Australia and Hong Kong, and graduated from the University of Newcastle, Australia, with first class honours. She is a 2016 recipient of the prestigious New Colombo Plan scholarship, awarded by the Australian government to high-achieving students. Her thesis explored the treatment of stuttering in Mandarin Chinese, and has since been published and the findings presented internationally. Imogen has a particular interest in the development of speech pathology services in Asia.

Imogen has experience working with children and teenagers in both school and clinic settings, addressing issues related to speech production, language development, social skills, fluency, feeding, and voice. Imogen believes strongly in taking a play based approach to therapy, and understands that learning happens when children are having fun! Imogen is certified in the Hanen Centre’s ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ program, for parents of late talking children, Gina Davies’ ‘Attention Autism’ course, and is a Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) trained clinician.​

Imogen prioritises creating genuine relationships with those she works with, and takes pride in providing play based and child lead intervention. Her intervention prioritises connection over compliance, and works as an advocate for each individual's autonomy and letting their voice be heard.

Imogen strongly believes that every person deserves individualised support to best achieve their communication, social, and academic goals. She values each person’s diverse range of strengths and the way these can be used to empower change and growth in an individual.
