At The Children’s Institute of Hong Kong, supervision and training of staff is a formal and on going process. TCI Staff is selected based on their level of background experience, and expertise. Once hired, they experience an intensive in-house training program consisting of formal coursework and hands-on supervision. These methods are consistent with best practices in the field and utilize the Personalized System of Instruction (PSI Modules) as developed by Fred S. Keller 1 as well as The TPRA in-situ observation technique.2
ABA teachers have expertise in the application of behavior analysis, problem solving, and classroom management skills. We consider them teachers and strategic scientists of instruction.3
Our training course is offered twice per year and is available to outside teachers and professionals throughout Hong Kong. Please contact us for more information.
1 Keller’s Personalized System of Instruction is from the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (1968) “Goodbye teacher...”
2 The Teacher Performance Rate Accuracy observation technique was developed by Ingham & Greer (1992)
